    AWAD includes a vocabulary word, its definition, pronunciation information with audio clip, etymology, usage example, quotation, and other interesting tidbits about words to subscribers every day. You can think of it as a word trek where we explore strange new words. Words are usually selected around a theme every week.

Book Adventure is a FREE reading motivation program for children in grades K-8. Children create their own book lists from over 6,000 recommended titles, take multiple choice quizzes on the books they've read offline, and earn points and prizes for their literary successes. Book Adventure was created by the Sylvan Learning Foundation and is sponsored by Sylvan Learning, Inc.

    Listen to stories online (in MP3 format) or download to listen offline. You can also read along as you listen.

    Sign up for a variety email book clubs (e.g., teen, scieince fiction, horror, etc) and every day you will receive a 5-minute sample from a book. By the end of the week, you'll have read two or three chapters. If it's a book you've just gotta finish, visit your local library or your favorite bookstore and pick up a copy. There are also an online forum to discuss the featured books.
