    Teacher submitted lesson plans that are practical and focused and have been used successfully They are clearly written and include step-by-step directions. Descriptions of special materials (if required) are included and most lessons do require Web access.

    Free online lesson plans for reading/literature. Lessons include materials, proceedures, adaptations, extensions, evaluations, discussion questions, etc. Lesson plans are categorized by grades K-5, 6-8, 9-12 and some lesson plans include suggestions for adaptations for older or younger audiences.
       
  New York Times Learning Network - Teacher Connections http://www.nytimes.com/learning/teachers/
    Teachers can access a daily lesson plan for grades 6-12, written in partnership with The Bank Street College of Education in New York City. Each lesson plan and the article it references can be printed out for classroom use. Previous lessons are available in the archive and in thematic lesson plan units. Teachers can also use News Snapshot, aimed for grades 3-5, to explore current events through New York Times photos and related questions.

    Classroom resources - lesson plans, unit plans, and guide materials for classroom discussions or class projects. Also provides the opportunity to preview episodes, plus review books and related web sites.
       
 

ReadWriteThink http://www.readwritethink.org/

    ReadWriteThink is a partnership between the International Reading Association (IRA), the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), and the MarcoPolo Education Foundation. ReadWriteThink offers a wide array of standards-based lesson plans that meaningfully integrate Internet content into the teaching and/or learning experience. Lessons can be selected according to grade band (K–2, 3–5, 6–8, 9–12) and area of literacy practice. Each lesson is research-based, and includes a detailed instructional plan. The lessons are written for the teacher but include student-ready materials such as worksheets, interactives, and reviewed Web resources.

    Schools of California Online Resources for Education (SCORE) features CyberGuides which are supplementary, standards-based, web-delivered units of instruction centered on core works of literature. Each CyberGuide contains a student and teacher edition, standards, a task and a process by which it may be completed, teacher-selected web sites and a rubric, based on California Language Arts Content Standards. Also includes links to an Activity Bank, Phonics Link, and Reading Initiative.
